Main Laboratory 

Aztikintiyol have invested in a Central Materials Laboratory in our Bina site in Baku, which is equipped with the latest, state of the art equipment to test Aggregate& Asphalt to recognized international standard or to individual customer's specification.  Under the leadership of a highly experienced Laboratory Manger the staff are also equipped to undertake Marshall Mix design work in order to research new and innovative asphalt products aimed at maximizing the performance of the finished asphalt, whilst minimizing the cost to the customer.

Satellite laboratories

Supporting our main lab in Bina are 4 strategically located satellite laboratories providing timely initial analysis of on- site production materials. This provides the operational staff with swift initial on site results which helps inform any minor adjustments required in the process in order to meet desired specifications.

In addition Aztikintiyol also own and operate a fully equipped mobile laboratory which can be set -up quickly on site to meet the specific needs of our customers.

These on-site and mobile laboratories carry out routine testing on Asphalt & Aggregates products to ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and specifications.

They are responsible for:

  • Sampling materials produced to the relevant standards,
  • Auditing sites to ensure the quality standard is being achieved on a daily basis.
  • Visual inspections on a daily basis of both asphalt and aggregate to identify any non-conformance likely to impact on our finished product.
  • Timely testing of asphalt and aggregates to inform  production of any minor adjustments that may need to be made to the process in order to maintain a consistent product for our end users.

In order to maintain the quality of our products, the Asphalt and aggregates are constantly tested by our lab to establish compliance and where variations occur help provide appropriate corrective action. .

Physical and mechanical properties of aggregate:

  • Polished Stone Value
  • Resistance to wear
  • Resistance to fragmentation
  • Particle density and Water absorption
  • Bulk density
  • Aggregate Abrasion value
  • Aggregate impact value
  • Clay lumps

Geometrical properties of aggregate:

  • Grading
  • Flakiness and elongation
  • Crushed or un-crushed
  • Sand equivalent
  • Fineness module

Asphalt and Bitumen:

  • Binder content by ignition
  • Ductility of bitumen
  • Penetration of Bitumen
  • Softening point of bitumen
  • Specific gravity
  • Flash point of bitumen

Asphalt mix design:

  • Air voids
  • Voids in aggregate
  • Stability and flow
  • Maximum specific gravity.
